i must constantly remind myself (and my children and husband) that people are (mostly) doing the best they can with what they have.

and that it is not our job to dictate their process.
and that even if people are ego-centric, it is not because they are trying to be malicious, or unkind, it is because they themselves are dealing with their own mountains of pain and suffering.
